The long-running television show “Sesame Workshop,” which debuted in 1995, has been on hiatus since March and will return to the network for its sixth season on Thursday.
HBO announced the decision on Tuesday.
The network also announced a new “Dora” movie, a TV movie about the beloved character, and a movie about “Dumbo,” a character from the classic animated series.
The show is known for its quirky humor and playful approach to the world of childrens cartoons, as well as for its high-concept storytelling and animated characters.
The “Seth MacFarlane” comedy series “Family Guy” and “South Park” have also been revived.
The new series will follow “Doran the dog” and his “dollhouse” family, and will be based on the “Seduction of the Third Sex” novel by Michael Crichton.
